It doesn’t matter if you’re a Republican or a Democrat…not when it comes to solar energy. It’s not a partisan issue, and that’s what many Americans and government leaders are getting wrong. With President Trump back in office, there has been much uncertainty around solar incentives, especially after his executive order to pause funding for the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). In this first episod...

Переглядів 13921 день тому
It can take time to understand what kind of solar panel system to install at your home. Let’s walk through how to calculate the amount of solar power your roof can generate based on its size, orientation, and angle-as well as the solar panels you install. In a perfect world, the average roof in the U.S. can generate around 21,840 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of solar electricity annually-that's more th...

The Federal Solar Tax Credit Explained
Half answer. I mean its a good half answer. Maybe narrow the question. And you answered it.
Your right. It SHOULDN'T be. But.. Big butttt... As we super fund people who then CHARGE us more for oil. They inturn then fund OUR elected officals. Fast forawrd.. 😮😮😮. I kid you not... they both bending you over and not even bothering to spit on your rusty sheriff's badge. 😮😮😮😮.
Sorry, but anytime someone says 'this [whatever] isn't a political/partisan issue' I feel a bit sorry for them. Because by god did I wish that was true, or even COULD be true. But the world isn't so kind. Politics is the argument about how humanity should govern itself. Anything a human can or will ever do is inherently political. Someone might not care about politics, but politics cares a lot about them by definition. We are all constrained, guided, and created by politics, and that will never stop. Every issue is a political issue. The only 'non partisan' issues there are are issues all relevant paries agrees on. If someone with power disagrees it IMMEDIATELY becomes a partisan issue. Sure, solar panels are amazing, but they also represents freedom so the ones that want power to themselves alone and less for everyone else doesn't like them. Not unless they're heavily restricted at least. I'm sorry, but this is just how the world is.
Living off grid on the seas ⛵ for 3 years. Got enough money in the savings i can rebuy the system 10x over when it needs replacing. Honestly in Australia if you dont buy solar/batteries your wasting money.
Solar is great battery technology not there yet kwe using mobile ohone tech flor deep storage expensive
So prior to President Bush in 2005 signing at first energy initiative let's go back a little further Jimmy Carter established the department of energy and beyond that he put solar panels on top of the White House and at the end of his administration a person move by Mr Reagan was to remove all those solar panels so much for non-partisan politics with solar. President Carter also established the first tax credit for installing solar and back in 1980 I built a solar thermal array for my first home and was able to get 30% back. Nice presentation thank you energy Sage for continuing to educate the public on solar and storage energy
Nice video 🎉
No such thing as clean energy. Unless it’s geothermal or nuclear. Nothing but green washing when it comes to solar.
I love when we pretend that solar is clean green energy. We are just greenwashing and exporting our pollution and extraction to other 3rd world countries
Yes brother. I too love the smell of the delicious noxious gases coming off of gas and coal power plants. When are we making our deal leader the president forever? Please do it so I can drive my truck on 20 inch lifts that barely gives me 8 mpg while I drink monster and gas station cookies for breakfast. What the heck is a 401K? The president promised me free money that he will tax from minorities.
Huh?! That's just not true. Solar panels are probably the least carbon-emitting energy out there.
Another comment from a Russian troll.
@ Did i ever say or even imply that gas and coal are clean?... Was I wrong to point out that solar takes a substantial amount of materials that are sourced from 3rd world countries. Thus exporting our pollution to other places. I agree that there are better energy sources than gas and coal such as nuclear energy, Hydropower, and geothermal with remote cases using solar.
@ Are you aware that solar energy is not the cleanest energy? Nuclear, wind, and hydro / geothermal are cleaner. So, no, solar is not the cleanest, but nuclear is. Also, it's the safest.
We need geothermal asap!
Lol the IRA didn't make these systems cheaper. Companies just increased the price to offset the savings to the consumer. 30k for an average solar system has a payback on my electric bill in 12.5 years. If i took that same sum of money and invested it with an average market return in the same period I'd have 64k. Take advantage of system improvements that make sense like heat pumps and heat pump hot water heaters. Roof top solar makes more sense if it's purpose driven like to power your EV. It's still dirt cheap besides in CA to run your house off the grid. This video is so cringe.
Mathehack is from Russia folks. Pay no attention to him.
I wanted to point out the flaw in this logic regardless of a troll or not. This argument ignores the fact that you would have to pull money from the investment each month to pay for the electricity the panels would have covered. Logically the fund would have some funds left at 12 years but only enough for maybe another year. At that point the fund is depleted but had you invested in panels they would continue ROI for another 20 years, at an ever increasing rate as electric cost go up.
@@leeka40 y'all can call me a troll all you want. I'm just saying just from a numbers perspective this isn't the best investment. If you had 20k cash to plop down on a system that would cover 100% of your electric bill for me it'd have a ROI break even at 6.5 years with an average electric bill of like $250. If you invested that 20k and it got an average return of 12.5% in that same period you'd have around 45k. If you subtract the electric bill from that you're left with 5k. This is also assuming no maintenance on the system and it is paying all of your electric bill. If you finance your system it's even worse. Plus a lot of utilities are starting to gut net metering and charging additional utility hookup fees. Battery banks are an additional cost + maintenance. Solar is a hedge against future prices and is a liability if it breaks or gets damaged. It's cool tech but I personally don't think it's a wise move to jump on it just because of a government incentive, that's just me though.
Great ideas don’t need subsidies
It's literally just increased the domestic prices of these goods.
But people who cant afford them need
Let's start removing subsidies from gasoline as well.
@ I’d love to hear about these direct subsidies to develop more gas stations on private Property of every homeowner?
And all the matetials in solar panels magically come out of the earth. No big stinky diesel mavhines are used. Best of all thr panels are built in china in factories powered by 100 percent clean coal. Any air pollution stsys in china.
So everyone should get solar. But make sure we have a backup system ready 24 hours a dsy
Forbid installers from using power tooks. That will creatr even more jobs
How does it work ay night?
Hi, bot! You didn't watch the video, did you? Of course not, because bot.
Check out the segment about battery storage at 5:46.
Yup I care about a bit of energy independence more than the clean energy thing. I do think it’s important but it’s more than that.
Meanwhile Oklahoma wants to ban all renewables 😳
This is a great presentation on its own and interjected movie snippets only take away from what is otherwise a very professional and well thought out video.
Fantastic video!
👀💡
Need more content like this!!!
Hmm for topics are there any housing situations where it is more or less beneficial to go solar? For instance townhouses with less roof space. If someone were interested what are the best avenues to take and questions to ask to make sure it is right for their situation?
This is really interesting. Thanks for the suggestion! We'll look into this for a future episode 😃
I've heard of community solar programs for people in appartment and such. I haven't done any research.
@@Casey-ip7ug I am an apartment dweller and I subscribe to a community solar program. So, yep. That is a thing. the CS thing still delivers your electrons to you using the regular grid, so you won't benefit in a grid down situation. It does let you know you are helping to de-carbonize the grid though. That feels good.
4:24 energy savings or energy sage-ings 😉 amazing video!
What topic should we cover next? Comment your ideas down below ⬇
How nuclear is an arguably better technology and how it is just as “green” as solar.
Do solar ppa company's get subsides when they buy solar panel and stuff ??
Scammers
Hi, for the tax credit can I use to offset taxes from royalties I receive from renewables? Or is it just for earned income? Thank you!
Hi there! Are you referring to SRECs? Just want to make sure we're talking about the same thing before I answer your question! www.energysage.com/solar/srecs/
Heat pumps suck to work on Get a basic gas furnace
You may start with one EV, but if you’re married, plan for another. So just install two chargers. Also, panels are cheap. Put on as many as you can. Buy batteries as you can afford.
I have a system that was installed in 2014 with 250kWh solar panels. Can remove the older panels that produce 5KW be upgraded to newer solar panels with higher wattage and keep my NEM agreement?
You keep sending me emails telling me to complete my portal and connect to NEXAMP, but all I get is videos on info, nothing for me to complete. I thought I was already in your system
I'm wondering, if space was not limited and these 500w panel are less efficient but are more economical does it matters? i'm just begin to learn about solar a couple day. I assume you couldn't put any watt and mixed it mumbo jumbo right?
Hi there! The 500 W solar panel was designed to meet the solar energy output needs of medium and large solar systems using fewer panels, which increases efficiency and lowers costs. According to EnergySage data, the most frequently quoted solar panels are around 400 W. You can read more about it here: energysage.biz/3BTXE1n
Great app! 👏 Wondering if you offer home battery solutions to your customers to reduce overzising PV panels
Thanks! Yes, we do-you can read more about our solar + home battery storage solutions here: energysage.biz/4f0wTXa Let me know if you have any questions! I'd be happy to help you out 😊
It's crazy that solar energy can be used in households
Beautiful home 🏡
Solar is a scam... dont fall for it, it's all lies. They oversell it, and then you're stuck with a high loan and mediocre solar panels.
Hi there! There are many ways to finance your solar panels, not just with loans. While solar can be an investment, there are many rebates and incentives you can take advantage of to cut costs. You’ll likely save at least 30% on solar with the federal tax credit-maybe even more with local incentives and programs. Read more about it here: energysage.biz/4emS3yB
Great insights Alix on how interest rates impact solar savings in 2024! Really helps put the long-term benefits of solar into perspective, despite higher rates. Thanks EnergySage for keeping us informed! 🌞💰
Great recap of RE+ 2024! Excited to see what’s next for the industry! 🌞💡
thanks... always helpful to have ball-park figures. Looking into a two-zone ductless 4-ton (or maybe 3-ton) system... excited to feel comfortable again and with overproducing solar on the roof, the e- costs will be negligible if we ever notice them at all. Thanks for the info.
So cool!
20 years is 240 months, and 240times 100 is 24.000 not 30k
Their warranty’s aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on, they’ll either wriggle their way out with the small print or be long gone before the system gives trouble, I’ve heard of solar companies filing for bankruptcy due to claims and restarting a new solar company and that was well before 20 years of usage.
What do you think about the ecoflow smart panel 2? It's basically a subpanel and has an input for their Delta Pro Ultra inverter battery combo. I'm curious about this one because it can make use of the solar panels for the circuits within this smart subpanel and your main panel stays connected to the grid and is also capable of feeding grid energy into the subpanel.
My experience with EF systems is that they are unreliable and overpriced.
Hi there! Sorry for the delay. We haven't looked at the EcoFlow Smart Panel 2, but we reviewed the EcoFlow 160W Solar Panel recently if you'd like to take a look at that in comparison to others here: energysage.biz/4dkhNe1
Not going so well. Clever saying North America.. or. Not USA
What about the cost of panel upgrade by an outside contractor, but it is in relation to having a complete solar system installed?
Hi there! Sorry for the delay. When you get a free quote with EnergySage, we'll connect you with various contractors in your area which will give you a cost breakdown of what the installation will cost-including panels, labor, etc. The tax credit can be applied to your solar system cost to bring the overall cost down.
Don’t forget Solar4America!
My bill is 600 a month in California. Solar saves me 200 a month. Solar is a joke.
I have a 38 W Sharp solar panel at the cottage, bought in 1985 and still working.
